Reverend Andrea Curry is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church in the West Ohio Annual Conference. She is married to Will Curry. Together they have a sweet beagle named Franklin and a sassy cat named Trudie.
Rev. Curry is a graduate of United Theological Seminary with a Master’s degree in Divinity. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Fine Art from Wittenberg University in Springfield Ohio where she grew up. Rev. Curry has served churches in Springfield, Columbus, and Fayette, Ohio.
She is passionate about missional ministry and enjoys helping people discern their gifts and skills to share the good news of the Gospel. She believes the church is not just a building, but a group of Jesus followers who strive to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Her favorite scriptures are Deuteronomy 6:4-9, John 3:16, and Ephesians 2:8-10.
Rev. Curry is the president for the BG Ministerial Association and a community advisor for the United Methodist Student Organization at BGSU. She also serves on the BG Interfaith Breakfast Planning Team and is a board member for the Wood County Prevention Coalition.
Director of Education & Outreach
Gail has joined Trinity as the Director of Christian Education and Outreach overseeing the Youth Education Programs, teaching Sunday School and Jr Worship, leading our active Youth Group planning Christ-centered activities combining fun and fellowship. Gail shares her gifts and talents planning our missions, special events and community outreach events, including the Vacation Bible School, the Lunch Buddies program, women's conference, youth mission trips, holiday events, and much more. Gail holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a Master's of Education Degree in Training and Development from Bowling Green State University.
She brings with her many years of event planning and organizational leadership experience from several organizations. Gail has a very musical background. She loves to sing and play the piano, has been a pianist/organist with choir accompaniment in the Methodist Churches of the West Ohio Conference for thirty years and has recently transitioned into youth ministry where God has called her to serve. Gail also serves and volunteers her time in the Greater Findlay Area Emmaus Community in various capacities. Gail has a husband and two sons who share the love of music, have been gifted with musical talent and a love for the Lord. Gail's favorite verse from the Bible is Jeremiah 29:11.
Mary Rife grew up just outside of Bowling Green and currently lives 1 1/2 miles from where she grew up. She has been married to Dave Rife for 31 years and holding. They have two daughters, Crystal DeVore (married to Drew DeVore) and Ashley Rife (Ashley is autistic and lives in a group home in Walbridge). Mary has always referred to Trinity as my little job from heaven and still feels that way. Mary returned to work in the office at Trinity as she prepares for retirement from her full-time job in two years. As a workaholic she knows she will never be able to completely retire and do nothing so Trinity will be a perfect fit for that. She loves working at the church and enjoys helping meet the needs of those who come into the office each day.
Fresh Expressions Coordinator
Savannah Hinde is an undergraduate student at Bowling Green State University, studying Political Science, Public Theology, and Design for Social Impact. She has been involved in ministry her entire life, serving in the local church and throughout the West Ohio and Florida United Methodist Conference.
Savannah also has a passion for local politics and nonprofits, with previous experience at the City of Toledo and various nonprofits in the Northwest Ohio area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends exploring local coffee shops and farmers markets or reading the latest theology books and blogs.
Jerry Smith, a native of Bowling Green, is pleased to be back home serving at his childhood church. Now in his third year as Music Director at Trinity, he directs the adult Chancel Choir and the Children of God choir.
Jerry is a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he earned Bachelor of Music and Master of Business Administration degrees. In 2018 he was a participant in a week-long Choral Conducting Symposium the University of Michigan.
Jerry does likes to incorporate a variety of musical styles into the worship music at Trinity, and feels he has done his job when the music chosen for the choir fits in and reinforces the week’s scripture lesson and message.
When not leading music at Trinity, Jerry can be found singing in the University Choral Society at BGSU. He works full-time as a cost accountant for a frozen specialty food company in Perrysburg. He lives in Sylvania, Ohio with his wife, Betty, and their Lakeland Terrier, Dexter. They have two adult sons.
Choral Assistant & Bell Choir Director
"Lucas Lourenco is a second-year graduate student at Bowling Green State University pursuing his Masters in Voice Pedagogy, and is the director for the bell choir, as well as assisting Jerry Smith in the direction of the Chancel Choir. He's from Carlisle, PA, and in his free time, he can either be found listening to music or tinkering with his computer."
Benjamin Nylander is a pianist and composer from Townsend, Delaware. He studied piano performance at Susquehanna University and is currently working towards a Master's in Music Composition at BGSU. Benjamin has played for many different churches, but piano/organ duets are a new performance genre altogether. When he isn't practicing, writing, or teaching piano lessons, he spends his time reading, enjoying films, and cooking with his new insta-pot.
Jesse Bonaventura is a keyboardist from Buffalo, New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at SUNY Fredonia, with a minor in Computer Science. During his time at Fredonia, his secondary instrument was the organ. In his free time, Jesse enjoys cooking and spending time with his friends and family.
Ron Springstead has worked at Trinity for seven years. Ron has many jobs as a sexton for Trinity: included in the list is grounds keeper, maintenance, (electrical, painting, pest control, structural, roof), custodial work, and he was instrumental in the recent remodeling ofthe sanctuary. Before starting here at Trinity he worked in a foundry for 22 years. He and his wife Karen live here in Bowling Green. They have one son. Ron enjoys working here at Trinity, but when he does retire, he is going "Pure Michigan." He and his wife have a cottage there.
