The newly-formed sewing group has been busy! The group’s mission is to provide needed items for local nursing homes as well as for our own church membership. To date, we have distributed at least 29 bibs/shirt savers, 18 walker bags, 35 wheelchair bags, 13 eyeglass cases, 24 chair pads/lap quilts, and two afghans. Many thanks to those who provided donation of fabric and supplies to make those projects.
In addition, several mending projects have been completed for the church. We are now available to perform small personal mending projects for our membership (no alternations, please!) for a voluntary fee which will be used to fund future projects and to supplement the church treasury for operating expenses. Leave a message at the church or contact one of the Sewing Group members if you have a need for such a service.
We plan to have a small fundraiser on Sunday, October 21st that will offer for sale to our membership some useful items that will make ideal Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas gifts!
We have recently merged with the Prayer Shawl Group, so anyone who can knit, crochet, sew, iron, pin and/or cut fabric, or just wishes to enjoy Christian fellowship is welcome to join us! We meet every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the church library.
